The invention relates to a method for the override of route events in the automatic longitudinal guidance mode. According to the invention, it is possible that the driver has a stronger influence on a existing longitudinal guidance operation and yet continues to receive assistance or exert the control manually. The present invention further relates to a correspondingly configured system arrangement. Furthermore, a computer program product is disclosed, having control commands which implement the method or operate the proposed system arrangement.
