QUANTIZATION PARAMETER DERIVATION FOR CROSS-CHANNEL RESIDUAL ENCODING AND DECODING

There are disclosed various methods, apparatuses and computer program productsforvideo decoding or encoding. In some embodiments for decoding a block thatcontainsquantized residual coefficients based on at least two color channels of avideopresentation or an image is received. A first quantization parameter and anoffset defininga relationship between the first quantization parameter and a secondquantizationparameter for the block are obtained. The value of the second quantizationparameter isdetermined by using the first quantization parameter and the offset. Theresidual samplesare reconstructed by dequantizing the quantized residual coefficients usingthe secondquantization parameter, if the block has been encoded by using a cross-channelresidualcoding mode.
