A receiver for a firearm and a method of disposing the receiver to preventautomaticreloading and/or trigger reset of a firearm are disclosed. A blockingmechanism is moveablebetween an upward and a downward position and the blocking mechanism is in thedownwardposition when the firearm is in battery. The blocking mechanism automaticallymoves to theupward position after a round is fired and the blocking mechanism preventsautomatic reloadingand/or trigger reset of the firearm when in the upward position.
