The present invention relates to a cage rotor (R) for an electric motor, in particular an asynchronous motor, having an axis of rotation (4), comprising at least one first cage ring (1), an axially spaced second cage ring (1a) and a rotor bar (2), the rotor bar (2) comprising a portion (21) that has a first cross section (A1) and a connection-element segment (22) that has a second cross section (A2), the second cross section (A2) being larger than the first cross section (A1), the cage rings (1) having an inner face (11) facing the rotor bar (2), the connection-element segment (22) being connected to the inner face (11) of one of the cage rings (1 or 1a). The invention also relates to an electric motor comprising a cage rotor according to the invention and to a method for producing a cage rotor according to the invention.
