This simulation device is provided with: a CAD data input unit 73a for inputting CAD data of a peripheral appliance 30; a display processing unit 72 for displaying an image of the peripheral appliance 30 on the basis of the CAD data; a constituent element name display unit 73b for displaying, in a tree structure, constituent element names of the peripheral appliance that are contained in the CAD data; a movable component name display unit 73c for displaying movable component names of movable components of the peripheral appliance 30; a CAD data assigning unit 73d which, on the basis of an operation to associate a movable component name with a constituent element name or with an image of a component of the peripheral appliance 30, assigns CAD data of the constituent element corresponding to the constituent element name, or CAD data corresponding to the image of the component, to a movable component corresponding to the movable component name; and an importing unit 73e for importing the assigned CAD data as data for use in a motion simulation.
