The media preview special-effect implementation method comprises as follows: performing control such that sizes of a media page to be displayed and a displayed media page in a first direction are consistent with the size of a parent container in the first direction (S11); performing control such that a display hierarchy of the media page to be displayed in the parent container is lower than a display hierarchy of the displayed media page in the parent container (S13); and within a special-effect duration, keeping the size of the media page to be displayed in a second direction in the parent container unchanged, and controlling the display size of the displayed media page in the second direction in the parent container to gradually decrease to zero from an initial size, wherein the initial size is equal to the size of the parent container in the second direction, and the second direction is different from the first direction (S15).
