The invention relates to a method for controlling an exchange of energy in an energy system (1) having multiple energy sub-0systems (3), each connected for the exchange of energy between energy exchange with one another. In order to provide an improved method for controlling the exchange of energy, the following steps are provided: receiving respective input data (6) from the energy sub-systems (3) via a control centre (2), wherein the input data (6) comprises respective payment compensation conditions of the corresponding energy sub-system (3) for receiving and/or for providing energy; determining optimum conditions (7) based on the input data (6) of all energy sub-systems (3) of the energy system (1) via the control centre (2); and controlling the exchange of energy between the energy sub-systems (3) based on the optimum conditions (7).
