The present invention relates to: a method for extracting cesium or strontium by using ternary phase separation; and an extraction apparatus to be used therefor. The present invention selectively separates cesium or strontium, extracts cesium or strontium as solid so as to minimize the volume of radioactive waste, uses an inexpensive organic solvent and recycles an organic solvent and an extractant, which remain after extraction, thereby exhibiting excellent economic efficiency, and can also carry out a continuous extraction process, thereby enabling effective extraction and removal of cesium or strontium up to a target level.
