Provided are an automatic electrode plate feeding process based on the application of a square lithium battery, and a positioning device. The automatic electrode plate feeding process comprises the following steps: 1) pre-setting the material supply of electrode plates, with a new process electrode plate comprising an upper electrode plate (1) and a lower electrode plate (2) and having an electrode lug installed thereon; 2) providing an automatic electrode plate feeding mechanism for transferring the upper electrode plate (1) and the lower electrode plate (2); 3) providing an electrode lug positioning unit on the automatic electrode plate feeding mechanism for positioning and detecting the electrode plates during the transfer of the upper electrode plate (1) and the lower electrode plate (2); 4) designing a rolling pin mechanism comprising a first rolling pin edge (4) and a second rolling pin edge (5), with the upper electrode plate (1) and the lower electrode plate (2) being delivered to the first rolling pin edge (4) and extending forwards, with the extension specification being 3-15 mm; and 5) enabling a rolling pin (3) to perform a penetrating and winding operation on the upper electrode plate (1) and the lower electrode plate (2) that have been detected and conveyed in place.
