A cord guide body (20) is provided attached to the bottom end of a rising and falling member that can move up and down synchronously with the sewing operation of a sewing machine, the cord guide body (20) being provided for guiding cord material (C) to a needle location position. The cord guide body includes a cylindrical part (20e) extended forward, and a body part (20b) that guides, to the needle location position, the cord material introduced from the front end of the cylindrical part and led out from the rear end thereof. A cord supply system (22) supplies the cord material (C) fed out from a supply source on a route traversing from above downward on the front surface of the sewing machine (via a tube 31 extended in the vertical direction), and introduces the cord material (C) to the front end of the cylindrical part of the cord guide body. The bottom of the body part of the cord guide body has a hole (20b) through which the sewing needle and the cord material are passed, the hole (20b) including an opening portion that holds a limiting structure provided closer to the cylindrical part, and another opening portion. The opening portion having a limiting structure comprises a narrowing opening portion having a shape that narrows toward the cylindrical part. It is thereby possible to supply and guide the cord material smoothly.
