An integrated circuit comprises a timebase generator (700) and a switch mode direct current-to- direct current (DC-to-DC) voltage converter coupled to the timebase generator (700). The timebase generator (700) comprises a first linear feedback shift register (LFSR) (202), a signal generator (204) having an input coupled to an output of the first LFSR (202); and a digital divider (702) comprising a second LFSR (712) and a programmable digital divider (706), wherein a clock input (708) of the programmable digital divider (706) is coupled to an output (208) of the signal generator (204), wherein an output (704) of the programmable digital divider (706) is coupled to a clock input of the first LFSR (202) and is coupled to a clock input of the second LFSR (712), and wherein an output of the second LFSR is coupled to a program input (710) of the programmable digital divider (706).
