A tunable narrow linewidth photogenerated microwave source based on polarization control, comprising a high reflectivity fiber grating (1), a high gain fiber (2), a low reflectivity polarization-maintaining fiber grating (3), a stress adjusting device (4), a single-mode semiconductor pump laser (6), an optical wavelength division multiplexer (5), a polarization beam splitter (7), a polarization controller(8), an optical coupler (9), and a photoelectric detector (10). The birefringence distribution in the low reflectivity polarization-maintaining fiber grating is controlled by adjusting the stress magnitude of a stress adjusting device to the low reflectivity polarization fiber grating, thereby controlling the laser frequency working in different polarization modes in a resonant cavity, and a tunable narrow linewidth photogenerated microwave source is generated by beat-frequency technique using a dual-wavelength narrow linewidth laser with variable frequency intervals.
