The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a sulfur-carbon composite, a cathode comprising the sulfur-carbon composite manufactured thereby for a lithium secondary battery, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the cathode, the method comprising the steps of: (a) mixing a carbon-based material with sulfur or a sulfur compound; (b) introducing the sulfur-carbon mixture mixed in step (a) and a liquid vaporizable in the following step (C) into a sealed container; and (c) heating the sealed container at the temperature of 120 to 200˚C.
