The present invention addresses the problem of improving light-emitting efficiency and the reliability of a light-emitting device that emits near-infrared light. Provided is a light-emitting device using an organic compound which emits light exhibiting a maximum peak wavelength of 760-900 nm. Provided is an organometallic complex represented by general formula (G1). In the formula, R1-R11 each independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1-6 carbon atoms, and at least two from among R1-R4 and at least two from among R5-R9 represent alkyl groups having 1-6 carbon atoms, X represents a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring or naphthalene ring, n is 2 or 3, and L represents a monoanionic ligand.
