The present invention is a high-molecular-weight polymerization initiator that is represented by formula (I). (I) M1aM2bD1cD2dT1eT2fQg, wherein M1=R13SiO1/2, M2=R12R2SiO1/2, D1=R12SiO2/2, D2=R1R2SiO2/2, T1=R1SiO3/2, T2=R2SiO3/2, and Q=SiO4/2 (R1 being a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, R2 being a group that has a ketene silyl acetal structure that is represented by formula (II) (A being a single bond or a bivalent organic group, R3 being a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, and R4 being a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group), a, b, c, d, e, f, and g being 0 or a positive integer, provided that b+d+f≥1, and the bond order of the siloxane units being arbitrary). The present invention thereby provides: a high-molecular-weight polymerization initiator that is for obtaining a (meth)acrylic graft silicone by group transfer polymerization; and a production method for said high-molecular-weight polymerization initiator.
