METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SUPPLEMENTAL LIGHTING CONTROL FOR PLANT BASED ON DAILY ACCUMULATED LIGHT EXPOSURE

A method for supplemental lighting control for a plant based on daily accumulated light exposure. The method is: calculating, on the basis of a daily accumulated light exposure and a duration of light exposure that a plant requires, an hourly accumulated light exposure required per hour on average; monitoring the intensity of light exposure of the canopy of the plant after sunset, calculating the sum of hourly accumulated light exposure that the plant requires in each period and all of the preceding periods and the sum of hourly accumulated light exposure actually received, determining, on the basis of the difference between the two, whether supplemental lighting is required, and calculating a duration for supplemental lighting. The present method effectively ensures that the plant acquires light exposure required for normal growth and, at the same time, ensures that supplemented artificial lighting can be efficiently utilized by the plant. Also provided is a system for supplemental lighting control for plant based on daily accumulated light exposure. This effectively reduces operating costs for supplemental lighting and increases the economic benefits of supplemental lighting.
