The method includes: performing a seedling stress test on seeds; treating the seeds at different low temperatures; analyzing and measuring root surface areas and root projection areas; performing a field overwintering rate test on the seeds in the field by adopting a completely randomized block design; calculating weighted averages or arithmetic averages of the root surface areas and the root projection areas in different treatments; constructing linear regression equations of the overwintering rate and the root surface areas and the root projection areas under different low-temperature treatments; repeating the previous steps, and calculating a weighted average of each to-be-identified variety under different temperature treatment conditions or calculating an arithmetic average of each variety under different temperature treatment conditions; and identifying cold resistance of the Winter turnip rape (Brassica rapa L.) by virtue of the constructed multiple linear regression equations.
