This guide mechanism 22 comprises: a guide part 23 having a first guide surface 23a assuming a tapered shape that is smooth, with no protrusions or depressions oriented in the insertion direction; an attachment part 24 for the purpose of attaching, in a removable manner, the guide part to a medical examination scope; a mounting structure 28 integrated with the attachment part, for mounting, in a removable manner, the guide part to the guide mechanism; and a variable support device 25 causing the interval between the attachment part and the mounting structure to be modified relatively to one another.
