The present invention relates to the technical field of energy-dissipating buildings, and particularly relates to a self-resetting energy-dissipating support having a shape memory alloy damper. The present invention comprises a core shape memory alloy damper and cruciform steel columns. The shape memory alloy damper is composed of two sets of inner and outer sleeves, sliding slots being arranged between the inner and outer sleeves such that the two are capable of sliding relative to one another according to a track. The two inner sleeves and the inner sleeves and the outer sleeves are all connected by means of pre-tensioned superelastic shape memory alloy bars. Outer end plates of the shape memory alloy damper are connected to the cruciform steel columns. The invention is characterized in that regardless of whether the support is in a tensioned or compressed working state, the apparatus is able to cause, by means of relative sliding of the inner and outer sleeves in the shape memory alloy damper, the superelastic shape memory alloy bars to be in a tensioned working state, thus providing the support with stability and an excellent capacity for self resetting and energy dissipation, effectively improving earthquake resistance in buildings.
