This patent map display device displays a patent map on a user terminal operable by a user, and is characterized by comprising: an information acquisition unit for acquiring indication information inputted to the user terminal by the user; a document database for storing prior patent information; an analysis unit provided with a comparison unit for comparing indication information with the patent information, and an evaluation unit for performing patent evaluation of the indication information by comparing the indication information with the patent information on the basis of the comparison unit; a patent map generation unit provided with a generation unit for generating, on the basis of attribute information that includes patent evaluation, an attribute-representing map and character pertaining to the analysis result of the indication information, and an arrangement unit for arranging a character on the map; and a display unit for displaying the patent map generated by the patent map generation unit.
