摘要

The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a liquid crystal composition which is capable of forming a light absorption anisotropic film that has excellent surface uniformity and high degree of orientation; a method for producing a polymer liquid crystalline compound; a light absorption anisotropic film; a multilayer body; and an image display device. A liquid crystal composition according to the present invention contains a polymer liquid crystalline compound and a dichroic substance; and the polymer liquid crystalline compound is a copolymer which has 90% by mass or more of a repeating unit (1) that is represented by formula (1) and 10% by mass or less of a repeating unit (2) that is represented by formula (2). In formulae (1) and (2), each of P1-P3 represents the main chain of a repeating unit; each of L1-L3 represents a single bond or a divalent linking group; SP1 represents a spacer group; each of SP2 and SP3 represents a single bond or a spacer group; M1 represents a mesogenic group having three or more ring structures; each of M2 and M3 represents a mesogenic group; T1 represents a terminal group; and each of n and m represents an integer of 0 or 1.
