The following are executed by a computer of an order placement assistance server: processes (S11, S14) which acquire from a terminal device information required to identify a product serial number which corresponds to a specific product; a process (S15) which, on the basis of the acquired information, identifies the product serial number which corresponds to the specific product; a process (S16) which, on the basis of constituent component data which corresponds to the specific product, identifies a component serial number which corresponds to the product serial number while finalizing a value for a component variable part which corresponds to a value for a variable portion of the product serial number in accordance with a regulation of a correspondence relation which is set between the serial numbers; and a process (S17) which provides the identified component identification information to a terminal device.
