A preparation method for a ternary cathode material of a lithium-ion battery with high cycle stability, relating to the technical field of cathode materials of lithium-ion batteries and provided for solving the problems of lithium-ion batteries during circulation in the prior art such as poor stability and rate performance. The ternary cathode material for the lithium-ion battery is prepared by uniformly mixing lithium salt with a precursor according to a certain ratio and firing in a certain content of an ozone atmosphere. Since the oxidizing ability of ozone is higher than that of oxygen, the divalent nickel can be fully oxidized to trivalent nickel, and the resulting ternary cathode material has a low mixing degree of lithium and nickel, a more complete layered structure and excellent cycle stability energy. The prepared ternary cathode material for the lithium-ion battery has good cycle stability and can prolong the service life of new energy vehicles. The preparation method has the advantages of simple device, low cost and good industrial production adaptability.
