The invention relates to firefighting technology, in particular to hybrid fire-extinguishing systems, and can be used for extinguishing fires in the engines of vehicles. The present fire-extinguishing device comprises: a cylindrical body provided with a lid, said lid having a pyrotechnic generator for a fire-extinguishing aerosol installed therein; an aerosol accumulation chamber; and a reservoir for a liquid fire-extinguishing agent. A plunger provided with a membrane is installed between the aerosol accumulation chamber and the reservoir for a liquid fire-extinguishing agent and expels the liquid fire-extinguishing agent through an outlet opening which is located in the bottom of the body. A valve is installed in the outlet opening and is provided with a rod which breaks the plunger membrane upon contact with the valve. The device makes it possible to prevent an aerosol stream from reaching a high temperature and to reduce the formation of particulate clumps which block the nozzle openings of spray nozzles in the fire-extinguishing system.
