Provided is a session establishment method, comprising: when an establishment request for a target session is received, determining whether the remaining session resources satisfy the requirement for establishing the target session; when the remaining session resources do not satisfy the requirement, determining a first session set; determining whether session resources occupied by the first session set are not less than target resources; and when the session resources are not less than the target resources, releasing, according to a preset session resource release policy, the session resources occupied by the first session set, and establishing the target session. By using the method, when the remaining session resources do not satisfy session resources required for establishing a target session, session resources occupied by an established session, the floor of which is lower than that of the target session, are released, and the target session is established, thereby solving the problem of poor user experience caused due to the fact that when the remaining session resources cannot satisfy the session resources required for establishing the target session, the target session cannot be established and a user cannot acquire required multimedia content, and ensuring the quality of service of an eMBMS.
