A control method for an air-cooled magnetic levitation unit, and an air-cooled magnetic levitation unit. The air-cooled magnetic levitation unit comprises two compressors. The control method comprises: when the unit is in a single compressor operation mode, determining whether the unit satisfies a preset condition; and if the unit satisfies the preset condition, making the compressor in operation operate at a reduced load, and then turning on the compressor not in operation, so that the unit switches to a dual compressor operation mode. In the process of the unit switching from the single compressor operation mode to the dual compressor operation mode, uneven pressure distribution can be avoided, ensuring the stability of the operation of the unit, and avoiding the occurrence of short-time fluctuation of the water temperature, thereby not affecting the normal usage of a user, and improving the user experience.
