METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE PROPERTY OF BIODEGRADABILITY, IN EVERY ENVIRONMENT, FOR DIFFERENT MATERIALS USING FILAMENTOUS FUNGI

The invention relates to a method for determining the biodegradability of different materials, in every environment, using environmental and ubiquitous fungi to establish whether or not a material can be considered biodegradable. In general, the method includes culturing filamentous fungi, inoculating the materials to be tested onto the cultures, and quantifying the residual mass at specific times. Biodegradability is determined by the reduction of the mass by the action of microorganisms in a time interval.
