Disclosed are an elevator brake fault monitoring method, device and system. The method comprises: receiving an acoustic emission signal, which is sent by a brake device when an elevator is braked; converting the acoustic emission signal into a voltage signal, and performing filtering on the voltage signal to extract a signal characteristic value, wherein the signal characteristic value comprises a time domain signal characteristic value and a frequency domain signal characteristic value; determining whether a fault occurs to the brake device according to a reference range of the time domain signal and a reference range of the frequency domain signal, wherein if the time domain signal characteristic value does not fall within the reference range of the time domain signal, it is determined that a fault occurs to the brake device; if the frequency domain signal characteristic value does not fall within the reference range of the frequency domain signal, it is determined that a fault occurs to the brake device. According to the solution, a brake device is monitored by means of signal characteristic values of acoustic emission signals, and the reliability of safety monitoring for elevators is improved.
