The purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel method which, in the described circumstances, can determine likelihood of morbidity, severity, risk of onset and/or aggravation, treatment effects, etc., of inflammatory disease including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), which is an intractable ocular surface disease, or other autoimmune diseases. A further purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel therapeutic method for inflammatory disease including Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS), which is an intractable ocular surface disease, or other autoimmune diseases.　The present invention is a method for determining autoimmune disease and/or inflammatory disease in a subject which targets at least one type of microRNA selected from the group consisting of miR-455-3p, miR-31-5p, miR-125a-5p, miR-72-5p, miR-628-3p, miR-548ac, miR-193b-5p, miR-204-3p and miR-3535 in a biological sample. Further, the present invention includes a preventive and/or a therapeutic agent of autoimmune disease and/or inflammatory disease which has a miR-455-3p inhibitor as the effective component.
