Disclosed is a lateral air inlet type vertical mill with a built-in combination for efficient powder selection, the vertical mill comprising a powder selection unit (100) and a grinding unit (200). The powder selection unit (100) comprises primary powder selection parts (101) and a secondary powder selection part (102), four primary powder selection parts (101) are distributed in the circumferential direction of the secondary powder selection part (102) at equal intervals, a top end of each primary powder selection part (101) is provided with a material feed port (101a) and an air inlet (101b), an upper end of the secondary powder selection part (102) is provided with a fine-powder discharge port (102a), and a lower end thereof is provided with a coarse-powder discharge port (102b). The grinding unit (200) is fixed on a lower end of the powder selection unit (100), and the coarse-powder discharge port (102b) is inserted downwards into the grinding unit (200). The vertical mill is compact and rational in structure, small in the amount of space occupied, high in powder selection efficiency and low in cost, and can be integrated with a mill.
