The present invention relates to a formaldehyde detection kit and a formaldehyde detection method using the same. The present invention comprises an extraction unit storing distilled water in which a fiber, a target testing material, is immersed; a color source reaction unit storing a color source solution to react with an extracted liquid extracted from the extraction unit; and an activator reaction unit storing an activator which is mixed with an analysis solution made of the extracted liquid and the color source solution to vary the analysis solution. The color source solution is 4-amino-3-hydrazino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole, and the activator is a strong alkaline solution.
