Reflective coatings include transparent binders such as polyurethanes, one or more reflective additives such as metal flakes, coated mica or titanium dioxide particles and phosphors. Such coatings may be applied to polymeric substrates such as polycarbonate, without any additional reflective coatings, films or layers. The mixing method described and the method applied to the coating area include the step of introducing the polymer substrate into the mold cavity of the mold, containing the polymer substrate at a processing pressure of 11,000 to 20,700 kPa, at a processing temperature of 50 ° C.-120 ° C., to coat the substrate.
