According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are an apparatus and method to measure the dimensions of a high-temperature forged material, capable of accurately measuring the dimensions of a high-temperature forged material in the middle of a forging process. The apparatus includes a radiation part, a line scan photographing part, a moving part and a calculation part. The radiation part radiates a laser beam in a horizontal direction to one side of a high-temperature forged material in the middle of a forging process. The line scan photographing part is installed at the same height as the radiation part, and obtains a line unit image by photographing an area of the forged material to which the laser beam is being radiated. The moving part moves the radiation part and the line scan photographing part at the same time in a vertical direction to enable the line scan photographing part to obtain a plurality of line unit images consecutively. The calculation part calculates the height of the high-temperature forged material based on the line unit images obtained from the line scan photographing part.
