Provided are a method and apparatus in which a synchronization signal is transmitted or received. In one embodiment of the present invention, synchronization signal configuration information of a cell (hereinafter, referred to as a second cell) set in an unlicensed band of the cells is transmitted through one of the cells (hereinafter, referred to as a first cell). The synchronization signal is transmitted on the second cell based on the synchronization signal configuration information. The synchronization signal is used to obtain time and frequency synchronization with the second cell.
