Disclosed is a maritime distress rescue system. While enabling closed communication between a gateway of a ship and distress signal transmitters of passengers in the ship, a rescue request signal of the distress signal transmitter can be received by a gateway of another ship in the event of a distress accident, such that a rescue operation for a rescuer is conducted quickly and accurately. Also, when the distress accident occurs, a mesh network is formed between the distress signal transmitters such that the rescue request signals transmitted from the distress signal transmitters are propagated without omissions and crosstalk. According to an embodiment, a maritime distress rescue system comprises: a plurality of distress signal transmitters determining a distress situation, transmitting a distress signal when the distress situation occurs, and consisting of a plurality of groups; a plurality of gateways each communicating with the plurality of distress signal transmitters belonging to the same group, and receiving the distress signal; and a master device controlling a signal receiving authority of the other group of each gateway by communicating with the plurality of gateways.
