The present invention relates to various forms of three-dimensional nickel hydroxide nanostructure attached onto nickel foam and a manufacturing method thereof, wherein the nickel hydroxide nanostructure can be manufactured through an ultrasonification process on various water-soluble solutions including acetone, ethanol, water, and butanol without additionally using other nickel precursors. The nickel hydroxide nanostructure is formed on a surface of the nickel foam in the form of eight different shapes to present ultra-high capacities. Moreover, nickel hydroxide on the nickel foam can be coated by a simple method to increase electrochemical stability. Accordingly, high specific capacitance and cycling stability can be secured for the nanostructure to be easily used in a supercapacitor electrode.
