The present invention relates to a zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn-MnO_2) secondary battery system. The zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn-MnO_2) secondary battery system comprises: a separator; a positive electrode disposed on one side of the separator and comprising manganese dioxide (MnO_2); a negative electrode disposed on the other side of the separator and comprising zinc (Zn); and a weak acid electrolyte. More specifically, the separator of the present invention is a hydrogen ion conductive positive ion exchange membrane made of a polymer material which allows the movement of hydrogen ions but inhibits the movement of manganese ions and zinc ions.
