Disclosed are an apparatus for providing address book-based service capable of telephone service using a message and a method thereof. The apparatus comprises: an information database storing the name and phone number of at least one member constituting a group; a message analysis unit receiving a text message transmitted from a calling terminal and extracting name information from the received text message; a search unit searching for a member corresponding to the name information extracted by the message analysis unit from the information database and acquiring information of the searched member; and an operation processing unit performing telephone connection between the calling terminal and a terminal corresponding to the telephone number of the member acquired by the search unit using the telephone number of the member acquired by the search unit and the calling number of the calling terminal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
