The present invention relates to a composition comprising a naphthopyrone derivative and a Cassia obtusifolia sprout extract containing the same as active ingredients. The composition according to one aspect of the present invention has an antioxidant effect and an effect of protecting a nerve cell from oxidative stress or inhibiting nerve cell apoptosis, and especially has an effect of inhibiting damage or apoptosis of retinal nerve cells or hippocampal nerve cells due to glutamate toxicity.
