In the present invention, provided is a gateway selection method in a wireless multi-hop network, in which all path qualities of a gateway, composed of a wireless link in which a load and a loss of the gateway exist, are considered, such that a plurality of mesh points can effectively utilize the gateway in a wireless multi-hop network having a plurality of gateways. To this end, the method comprises the following steps: (A) a mesh gateway transmits after allowing a load measurement value itself to be included in a path message which is periodically transmitted to mesh points in order to check information of all mesh points included in a wireless multi-hop network; (B) wireless path quality (path metric value) from the mesh points to the mesh gateway is calculated by using an airtime link metric defined in IEEE 802.11s; (C) a load aware gateway selection metric (LGSM) of the mesh gateway is calculated based on the load of the mesh gateway and the path metric value; (D) the mesh gateway having the lowest LGSM among the calculated LGSMs is selected as a candidate; and (E) when the mesh gateway which is selected as the candidate is different from a basic mesh gateway which is currently selected, the basic mesh gateway is replaced with the mesh gateway which is selected as the candidate.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
