The present invention relates to a thin layer tappet including WC-Ni-based cemented carbide, which can significantly reduce manufacturing costs by reducing the input amount of raw materials by reducing the thickness of the cemented carbide tip of the cemented carbide tappet, and a manufacturing method thereof. The present invention provides the thin layer tappet including WC-Ni-based cemented carbide, wherein a cemented carbide layer is formed on a contact surface between a tappet body and a cam of the tappet body, and comprises 20 to 30% by weight of nickel (Ni), 1 to 2% by weight of silicon (Si), 0.1 to 2% by weight of boron carbide (B4C), 3 to 6% by weight of carbon (C) and the remainder tungsten carbide (WC).
