The present invention provides a composition for detecting iron ions (Fe^3+) containing an anthracene-based Schiff base derivative, and a method for detecting iron ions (Fe^3+) using the same. The composition for the detection of iron ions (Fe^3+) containing the anthracene derivative of the present invention and the method for detecting iron ions (Fe^3+) using the same can be useful as an iron ion (Fe^3+)-specific detection technique in the field of iron ion (Fe^3+) detection.
