The present invention relates to a novel release agent for an epoxy acryl-based optical material, a composition for an optical material comprising the same, and a method of preparing an optical material. The present invention provides a release agent which comprises at least one of siloxanes and silane compounds represented by chemical formula 1, has excellent demolding characteristics, and exhibits excellent transparency that does not cause clouding upon polymerization. In addition, the present invention provides a composition for an epoxy acryl-based optical material, comprising the release agent, and a method of preparing an optical material. According to the present invention, an epoxy acryl-based optical material, which does not cause damage upon demolding, does not show clouding and exhibits good transparency, can be obtained. In the formula: R_1, R_2, R_3, R_4, R_5, and R_6 each have an alkyl group having 1-10 carbon atoms, an aryl group, and a substituent, and the R_1, R_2, R_3, R_4, R_5, and R_6 have an identical or different group; and n is 0 or/and 1.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
