An embodiment of the present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating neuroinflammatory diseases or a food composition for alleviating neuroinflammatory diseases which contains a Croton tiglium extract as an active component. The composition according to an embodiment of the present invention can suppress the production of nitric oxide, and also can suppress the expression of a tumor necrosis factor (TNF-). The Croton tiglium extract activates the expression of arginase and promotes BDNF production.
