The present invention relates to a foamed ceramic ball and, more specifically, to a foamed ceramic ball manufacturing method and a foamed ceramic ball manufactured by the method, including: a first step of generating a raw material mixture by mixing 20 to 40 parts by weight of material A (mud, coal gangue, red mud, and clay), 30 to 70 parts by weight of material B (ocher), 3 to 15 parts by weight of material D (stone powder), and 0.1 to 0.3 parts by weight of material F (calcium permanganate); a second step of manufacturing the raw material mixture into a ball shape through a particle maker; a third step of coating the raw material mixture ball with material E (waste glass powder) by adding 1 to 5 parts by weight of material E to the raw material mixture ball; and a fourth step of foaming the raw material mixture ball coated with material E. The lightweight and high-strength foamed ceramic ball of the present invention is provided by processing being performed based on utilization of existing resources or recycling of industrial wastes. The foamed ceramic ball can be used as a raw material for interior and exterior building materials such as wall, floor, and plant building materials. The foamed ceramic ball of the present invention has shown a strength grade of CL30 to CL60, is small in density, is light in weight, and provides excellent thermal insulation and thermal effects. Accordingly, the ball can be used for every concrete-based product through application.
