The present invention relates to a composition for predicting the prognosis of intestinal type gastric cancer including an agent for measuring a vestigial like family member 1 gene expression level (VGLL1), to a kit comprising the same, and to a method for providing information about the prognosis prediction of intestinal type gastric cancer. Since the expression level of the gene has a close correlation with the overall survival rate and the recurrence-free survival rate of the patient with intestinal type gastric cancer, the prognosis of the patient with intestinal type gastric cancer is predicted by measuring the expression level of the gene, thereby being effectively used for diagnosis and treatment.
