An insect larva breeding system 1 is disclosed. The system comprises a waste management module (2) configured to receive organic waste (5) and convert the organic waste into feed (6) for insect larvae (7), and multiple trays for holding or receiving the larvae ( 15) and at least one breeding module configured to handle and provide the feed to the trays. The feed is supplied directly from the waste management module to each of the at least one breeding module.
