The present invention relates to a naphthalimide derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a composition for detecting moisture by using the same. It is confirmed that the naphthalimide derivative emits fluorescence and exhibits a double emission wavelength in the presence of moisture in a polar organic solvent without a separate pretreatment and an intensity of fluorescence is increased due to a content of moisture contained therein. Accordingly, the naphthalimide derivative can be provided as a fluorescent probe for moisture detection, and a paper strip impregnated with the fluorescent probe can be provided as a strip for moisture detection which can be reusable and check the presence of moisture in a sample on a real time basis in a prompt and simple manner.
