According to one aspect of the present invention, disclosed is a method for preparing an electrocatalyst for oxygen generation comprising nickel particles encapsulated with carbon nitrides, comprising the steps of a) mixing urea, a nickel precursor, and a solvent; b) vaporizing the solvent to dry the mixture; c) heating the dried mixture under a nitrogen atmosphere; and d) removing unreacted nickel from the heated mixture. Accordingly, disclosed are an electrocatalyst for oxygen generation comprising nickel particles encapsulated with carbon nitrides prepared as above, an electrode for a fuel cell, and the fuel cell. As prepared above, the electrocatalyst for oxygen generation has an advantage of being cheaper than a conventional electrocatalyst for oxygen generation and remarkably improving catalyst efficiency.
