According to one embodiment, the device may include a context-specific encryption key circuit that generates a key value, the key value being specific to the context of the instruction set. The apparatus may include target address prediction circuitry that provides a target address for the next instruction in the instruction set. The device may include a target address memory that stores an encrypted version of the target address, the target address being encrypted using at least a portion of the key value. The apparatus may further include an instruction fetching circuit to decrypt the target address using at least a portion of the key value and to retrieve the target address.
